The Gambia lies between the Tropic of Cancer and the Equator, and therefore has a typically tropical climate with sunny days, temperatures remaining constantly high all year round, with no distinction of seasons. July to October are the rainy months, accompanied by high humidity, but the rain tends to fall in brief, heavy storms in the early evenings. The rest of the year there is little or no precipitation.
